These are my two most favorite recordings of John Lennon. I listen to them often.

Wow. I’ve never heard a song like this. In between the most beautiful harp playing and the most elegant lyrics, is Joanna Newsom’s voice. Hope you enjoy.

Here’s a link to the lyrics.

I just heard the new Radiohead record, “The King of Limbs”, in its entirety last night. It completely blew my mind. The pure depth of this album is unbelievable. If you don’t already have it. Go get it.

You can buy it here.

Merry Christmas everyone…here is a song that is hitting me pretty hard this morning. Hope everyone has a beautiful day.

I’m not sure why exactly, but I have been mesmerized by female singers lately. Here is another band I just recently found out about called Stars. Not typically my kind of music, but for some reason I’m very drawn to it at the moment. Hope you enjoy…

I was trying to think of something I wanted to say…but as usual I think I’d rather let some music do the talking. This song is called “I Just Don’t Think I’ll Ever Get Over You” and it’s by Colin Hay. I can’t believe I have not posted this considering it is one of my “go to” songs on nights like this…hope you enjoy it.

The other day, I was playing some music with a good friend of mine named Joe. He lives at a house down the street from me here in Nashville with three other other guys and a cat named Forest. This house is the most lively and artistic free for all you’ve ever seen. Needless to say, it has an amazing vibe. House shows and get-togethers at this house fill up some of my best college memories thus far. But anyways, as we were jamming on a couple acoustics he showed me this song on his iPod. He considered it one of his “guilty pleasures” but after listening to it, I just think it’s a “pleasure”. This song truly is incredible, and so is the music video. The band is called Land of Talk, and the song is “It’s Okay”…

What a great video…

So today as I was listening to Radiohead’s album, “In Rainbows”, I realized I’ve never listened to the b-side songs that they released for that record. To say the least, I was thrilled. I went to YouTube and immediately found some neat clips of some of these songs. Here’s one I really enjoyed…

If you even remotely enjoyed the song from my last post you should definitely give this artist a listen.  His name is Alexi Murdoch and is right up there with Nick Drake on my list of favorites.  Listen to the song below…then go check out his website and grab one of his CD’s while you’re at it.  I bought one of the hand-numbered limited edition copies of “Towards the Sun” earlier this year which is where I got the idea for the “Wintersong” CD packaging.  Both of his albums are incredible in their own light.
